Meredith TS 7079 from our historic and 250th Anniversary Heritage Collection. This design was reproduced from a paper found in the Smith Homestead which was built around 1775 in a village formerly known as Meredith, New Hampshire. This old town is now a part of Lakeport and Laconia. This paper was made in America in the early nineteenth century and was used by this family to decorate a fire board. The same paper was also used for the walls of the Leavitt House in Belmont, New Hampshire. Meredith, in its original blue coloring, can also be seen on a bonnet box in the Hewitt Collection of Wallpaper Designs in a New York City museum.
